Water is a magnificent resource that every breathing organism on the planet relies on for survival, making it necessary that you drink it! However, it’s understandable when people don’t want to drink water, specifically children. Water does not have any flavor, and the thought of drinking a “nothing-flavored” beverage may seem less appealing than drinking a glass of juice or a can of soda. Yet, it’s important to understand that drinking water has many benefits and it is an essential action that everyone should take practice in. Why is that? It’s because water is needed for great health.
Drinking water helps you stay hydrated. If you were to become dehydrated, your body wouldn’t have enough fluids to properly operate day-to-day. Your body would send you signs that it needs hydration. Simple indications of this are headaches, dizziness, constipation, dark urine, or even sleepiness. Your body functions in a circuit, and water helps that circuit run smoothly. These symptoms can be even worse if you are active. Going long without water especially when you do intense workouts like playing sports will increase dehydration and only do you harm. Do your body a major favor, and drink lots of water every day. Most doctors recommend drinking 6 to 8 glasses daily, but hydration is different for everyone.
Another reason you should drink water is that it cleanses your body. Your kidneys work hard to remove toxins and waste from your body, and they will continue to do their job if you continue your usual intake of fluids. Lots of teenagers have mentioned that after cutting out sugary beverages and drinking more water, they had less acne. Drinking water helps you hydrate from the inside, and locks in moisture which helps your skin. You will find that by drinking water, you are helping your body deeply clean itself as well as help your skin, hair, and nails remain strong and healthy.
Lastly, you should drink water because it will make you feel great. Whether it’s room temperature or chilled with ice, drinking water is a privilege that everyone should be able to enjoy. After a long run, there is nothing better than large gulps of water. Or maybe you have an upset stomach; a glass of water before a meal can help with that. Even waking up in the morning and feeling so dejected can be easily solved with a glass of water. It’s never too late to start hydrating yourself, but try not to wait too long. Some ways to improve your drinking habits are to sleep with a water bottle next to your bed. Drink a glass of water before each meal to improve indigestion. Or even eat more fruits and vegetables, because the majority of them have high water content. Whatever you decide to do, do it for the sake of your own health. Your body will thank you later!
