What is music? Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. It is one of the universal cultural aspects of all human societies. And I love it. Music is probably my favorite thing in the world. Music is so diverse and there are so many different genres of music and different tempos/beats and it never ceases to amaze me on how unique and different music can get. Music is like an escape for me. When I’m sad, I listen to music to express how I feel and it calms me down. When I’m doing school work, music keeps me concentrated and motivated to keep writing/working. Actually, as I am writing this blog, I’m currently listening to music! Going back to how diverse music can be, countries around the world make music. So there are lots of songs with different languages in them, for example: Spanish, French, Korean, Japanese, Dutch, Arabic, etc. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter what language of music you listen to because at the end of the day, it is what brings you the most joy! I don’t just listen to one genre, I listen to many different ones, which is why I think I have such great music taste. I listen to Pop, Rock, Latin-pop, R&B, Rap, etc. I don’t think I can ever get sick of music. When it really comes down to it, music is a great way to seek comfort when life is getting rough and when stress is just messing with you. I really appreciate music in all of its varieties and all of the ways it has helped me cope with my feelings and anxieties.
